Sofiia is the founder of In Her Wallet, a financial education podcast equipping women in their 20s and 30s to live their best lives without sacrificing financial futures. Since its launch in 2022, In Her Wallet has partnered with financial leaders like Royal Bank of Canada, Wealthsimple, Monday Girl, Fidelity Investments and NerdWallet to deliver expert insights on the podcast. In 2024, Sofiia was featured in the 30 Under 30 list by BCBusiness for her contributions to financial education.

Sofiia is a seasoned speaker and moderator with a proven track record of leading high-profile events, fireside chats, and keynote speeches for audiences of 150–1,500 attendees. She has hosted The Gathering Summit, a Forbes top-rated marketing conference, and led fireside chats with industry leaders like JP Morgan CEO David Rawlings and RBC’s Head of Capital Markets Derek Neldner. Her experience spans moderating investment panels, delivering keynote speeches, and speaking on podcasts about finance and entrepreneurship.
Past Experience
Before founding In Her Wallet, Sofiia built a career in wealth management as an Associate Investment Advisor at Canaccord Genuity, one of Canada’s top private investment firms. She supported the management of multi-asset portfolios, facilitated investments across equities, fixed income, and registered accounts, and tracked global market trends to assist in wealth strategy optimization. She also earned her Accredited Investment Representative designation through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).Prior to wealth management, Sofiia earned a combined Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Commerce from The University of British Columbia. While at UBC, she served as a Director at the National Investment Banking Conference (NIBC), working alongside industry executives to organize Canada’s largest finance case competition.Originally from Russia, Sofiia moved to Canada at 17 years old to pursue her education. Fluent in English and Russian, with proficiency in Mandarin, she brings a global perspective to her work—one that ultimately shaped her mission to make financial literacy more accessible for women worldwide.

Alongside her work in finance and entrepreneurship, Sofiia is passionate about fine jewelry—its craftsmanship, history, and investment potential. Through her Substack newsletter, Hall of Gems, she is documenting her journey into the world of high jewelry, exploring everything from diamond sourcing to the stories behind iconic pieces.
